Passengers with Reduced Mobility
An EU Regulation transferring responsibility of passengers with reduced mobility from airlines to airports comes into effect on Saturday 26th July, 2008.
At each airport the Airport Authority or an appointed handling agent will be responsible for passengers requiring special assistance. There must be a smooth and easy transit for the passenger through all areas of the airport.
In order for the Airport Authority or handling agent to provide the best service possible and ensure the passenger’s needs are met, it is important that Aer Arann is advised of those requirements, where possible, 48 hours in advance of travel.
Passengers can call the Aer Arann reservations centre on the numbers below who will record all details of the passenger’s requirements
- 0818 210 210 (From within Ireland – local rates apply)
- 0800 587 2324 (From within UK – free phone)
- +353 818 210 210 (Rest of the World – international rates apply)
Guidelines for Passengers:
Wheelchair passengers
It is Aer Arann policy to accept wheelchair passengers. We ask that passengers advise us their level of disability prior to travel as due to aircraft restrictions we may be limited in the amount of wheelchair passengers we can accept per flight.
Passengers traveling with Guide/Assistance Dogs
Guide/Assistance Dogs accompanying passengers with disabil ities will be accepted for travel subject to all entry requirements being fulfilled. This is the passenger’s responsibility. All guide/assistance dogs must be pre-booked by calling the Aer Arann Call Centre. Aer Arann cannot accept guide/assistance dogs on the Nantes-Cardiff route due to restrictions at Cardiff Airport.
Passenger requesting Meet and Assistance
This service will be provided if required. We ask that passengers advise us the level of assistance they require prior to travel
Where can I get this assistance from?
Once Aer Arann has been advised of the assistance required we will then notify the Airport authority or Handling agent. There are a number of designated pick up points in all airports where passengers will be collected from. More information on individual airports layouts can be found on their website – listed below:
